Alloy boats and dissimilar metals

    call into blacks fastners or someone similar they should have the right anti seize or paste for dissimilar metals.

    If you need to remove and replace the fastener on a regular basis I found nickel silver antiseize to be one of the best followed by the lanocote type products. Duralac is good as are the tough gel type isolating products, but no good on threaded fasteners where you wipe the product off as you turn the fastener in. For this situation it needs to b a mechanical fastener like a rivet etc.

    Best option is using coarser thread types if you have to thread into ali, Whitworth bolts have been successful for me as the fastener threads are coarser and leave more ali in the female thread. Otherwise lots of silicone to create a watertight seal...

    to give you an idea of copper and alloy together. as a kid i powered a small radio from using copper and aluminium plats stuck in a lemon !
