Looking good but I would make the entrance twice as wide and have only the bottom cross bar to make it easier for them to enter. Have to watch them if you have a bit of spare time to make sure the bars aren't too heavy for them to push.

I used to keep birds a couple after each catch and put them in the trap to speed up the catch of new ones.

Pigeons are difficult to trap and soon learn to piss off when you have a gun in your hand

    We poison the bastards.

Just need to set out a feeding station where other animals kids etc can't get to.

Have a chat with your local pest control company.

    Nice trap though

    Cheers
    Pete

looked at that stuff that puts them to sleep but the horses they are breeding on one block and the ones in training on the block next door are too valuable to risk anything going wrong.even an air rifle cant be used incase of any ricochet.trap will have to be behind the outrigger hotwire in a corner of the paddocks when all the paddocks are full.middle of next winter I may be able to use an air rifle when most of the breeding horses have gone back to their owners.

How about making up a pigeon roost for them and put it up on a roof with doors you can shut, a bit off food around it and when they get used to it and roost for the night, you have got them, shut the doors. Pigeon pie!! :p I like the cray pot.

if it doesn't work as a pigeon trap it will be modified for a crab pot.if it doesn't trap them I might see about that idea of a roost .the pigeons are not nesting there they are just coming in to eat the horse feed but they may roost if I build a big enough one.

I agree with Pete. Your box will be more gainfully employed as a feeder station for the pigeons, feed them the poison that puts them to sleep which we discussed earlier in the pigeon-bow-hunting thread. The cage will serve to keep the expensive nags from indulging in the pigeon poison. Good luck.
